With nearly 800 employees in Norway across automotive retail, real estate, maritime industry, and marine operations, Frydenbø Group has a wide range of roles and competence needs. When the group decided to modernize its training efforts, the goal was to find a solution that combined simplicity, efficiency, and modern technology. After evaluating several providers, the choice fell on XtraMile.
In connection with the implementation, XtraMile spoke with Helene Myking, Head of Communications and Brand at Frydenbø Group.

The rollout was quick and seamless. According to Myking, the platform was so easy to understand that they were able to start using it immediately.
“It is absolutely a system that is easy to understand and intuitive to use.”
After just a 30-minute demonstration, XtraMile was presented internally, and the production of new courses was already underway. Myking also highlights that despite XtraMile offering advanced functionality, the need for support has been minimal.
“We’ve received great follow-up from XtraMile, but we don’t really need much help – because the platform is so intuitive.”
A large share of Frydenbø’s employees work in the field as mechanics, technicians, service personnel, and skilled workers. Many have limited access to PCs, making it essential that courses work seamlessly on mobile devices.
According to Myking, this is crucial to ensure participation across the organization:
“It’s essential to have an e-learning system that is easy to use – and that works well on mobile.”
Frydenbø also employs people from several countries, including Romania and Poland, making multilingual support a key requirement.
“It gives us greater flexibility to offer courses in multiple languages – especially for the most important mandatory training.”
When evaluating different systems, XtraMile’s AI functionality stood out in particular. According to Myking, XtraMile was clearly ahead in its use of artificial intelligence – both for efficiency and automation.
“We experienced XtraMile as very AI-driven and far along in its development, using AI effectively to streamline processes. We believe this will save us a significant amount of time.”
The group expects this to contribute to increased course production across disciplines, and Myking notes that the benefits are already clear:
“And we can already see it – it’s very easy to produce courses.”
With multiple companies and domains within the same group, secure authentication was an important requirement from the IT department. XtraMile supports Single Sign-On (SSO), making it easy for employees to log in while ensuring secure identity and access management.
According to Myking, this created confidence internally:
“The fact that employees can log in using our own domains and have multi-factor authentication provided extra reassurance for IT.”
Frydenbø started with onboarding as its first use case, but plans to expand the use of XtraMile across multiple areas. Around 17 people already have access to produce courses in the test environment, and Myking expects the number of courses to grow significantly.
A key goal going forward is better control over whether procedures and policies are actually read and understood.
“We can publish procedures and policies and ensure that employees confirm they have read and understood them – for example GDPR.”
Myking describes the platform as a highly effective channel for reaching the entire organization:
“This is a very easy way to reach employees. I really enjoy working in the system, and I’m very ready to get started.”
