Moisture Mechanics and Moisture Control

Course Information

Gain control of moisture in the construction process and avoid damage, complaints, and conflicts.

One of the greatest challenges in the construction industry is moisture. Moisture-related damage in both new and existing buildings results in significant costs every year. This course focuses on the fundamentals of moisture mechanics and how to maintain proper moisture control throughout the construction process.

Learning Objectives

Participants will gain a solid understanding of the moisture loads that affect building structures. The course also teaches how to monitor and control moisture during construction.

Course Content
- Air pressure and vapour pressure
- U-values
- Dew point
- Sd-value (water vapour resistance)
- Dry construction principles
