Escape Prevention Course – Learn how to prevent escapes from aquaculture facilities using effective strategies.
Course Information
Escape Prevention is an e-learning course that provides you with knowledge on how to prevent escapes at aquaculture facilities. You’ll learn about causes such as technical failures, human error, extreme weather conditions, and attacks by predators, and how these can be managed using effective strategies and best practices.
The goal is for you to have the expertise needed to reduce the risk of escape incidents by the end of the course. The course is 100% online, so you can learn whenever and wherever it suits you. You set your own pace, and your progress is saved so you can easily pick up where you left off. Upon completion, you will meet the requirements of Section 6 of the Aquaculture Operations Regulations.
What does the course cover?
The course is divided into six chapters, covering the following topics:
• What is escape, and what different types of escape incidents can occur?
• Preventive measures and strategies
• Relevant laws, regulations, and requirements
• The areas of responsibility for the various stakeholders
• Limiting the Extent of Escapes
What Does the Course Look Like?
Each chapter consists of several lessons that provide you with detailed information and knowledge about each topic. The courses include text, images, videos, animations, and interactive exercises that provide an engaging learning experience. At the end of the course, you’ll take a final test.
