What is Automated Training?
- Automated Training
Automated training means that the organization’s digital systems perform agreed-upon tasks in the training process. This may include assigning courses, sending invitations, reminding participants of deadlines, and recording completion. The automation is governed by rules or events, such as hiring, a change in role, or the need for renewal.
- Also known as: Learning Automation; Automation of Training
Automation is not the same as AI
Automation is about the workflow surrounding training, not necessarily about how the content is produced or how learning takes place. Fixed rules can send a reminder or assign a course without artificial intelligence. Academic guidance, hands-on training, and skills assessment remain distinct components of training.
Example: Automated Training
A new employee is registered in a department and automatically receives the department’s introductory course. If the course is not completed by the deadline, a reminder is sent. The manager views the status in an overview and follows up with employees who need help or an alternative way to complete the course.
