What is Customer Training?

Customer Training

Customer training is structured learning that helps customers understand and use a product or service. It may include an introduction, training on features, and updates. The goal is for the customer’s users to be able to perform relevant tasks, not just to be familiar with the product’s features.

Also known as: Customer Training, Customer Education

The Difference Between Customer and Partner Training

Customer training is aimed at those who use a product or service. Partner training, on the other hand, may be aimed at those who sell, implement, or support the offering. Customer training is also distinct from user support: It builds knowledge through a structured program, rather than simply resolving a single inquiry.

Example: Customer training

A construction equipment supplier offers digital training courses to its customers. Machine operators receive training in safe operation, daily inspections, and equipment maintenance, while supervisors are introduced to relevant procedures and follow-up protocols. The training ensures that customers gain the knowledge necessary to use the machines correctly and efficiently.
