What is Cybersecurity Training?
- Cybersecurity Training
IT security training is training in how to protect information, digital devices, and systems through secure behavior. Employees learn to recognize threats, understand risks, and follow the company’s procedures. The concept encompasses both knowledge of digital threats and the skills needed to handle situations that arise on the job.
- IT security training, Cybersecurity training Also known as:
The Human Side of IT Security
The training focuses on people’s judgments and actions, while technical security measures protect systems in other ways. Security awareness is the aspect that focuses on identifying and understanding risks. The training may also include practice in specific work procedures and reporting. Training thus complements technical measures, but does not replace them.
Example: IT Security Training
A team is shown a fictitious email requesting immediate confirmation of an account. The employees assess the sender and test the company’s reporting procedure. The feedback explains the difference between a suspected incident and a confirmed incident. The exercise links security knowledge to actions in everyday work.
