What is Interactive Learning?

Interactive Learning

Interactive learning is learning in which the participant actively engages with the content through action, choice, or dialogue. This can take place in digital courses, hands-on exercises, or conversations. The participant receives feedback that helps them understand connections, test their knowledge, and adjust their approach along the way.

Active Participation and Feedback

Interactivity lies in the interaction between the participant’s action and the resulting response. A choice can lead to an explanation, a new question, or a different situation. It’s more than just clicking through pages. The response makes it possible to explore one’s own understanding and see the consequences of different choices.

Example: Interactive learning

An employee encounters a fictional customer inquiry in a digital course and chooses how to handle it. The course explains the consequences of the choice and lets the employee try an alternative. The participant actively applies their knowledge, rather than simply reading about the procedure.
