What is Learning Path?

Learning Path

A learning path is a planned sequence of activities that helps a participant develop skills toward a specific goal. It may consist of courses, reading materials, practical assignments, and guidance. The activities build on one another, so that the participant can see the connection and the next step.

Learning Path and Training Plan

The learning path describes the participant’s journey through the activities and how they build on one another. A training plan may also include responsibilities, deadlines, and resources. A path can be the same for everyone in a particular role or tailored to different levels of prior knowledge. It can include both digital activities and hands-on training.

Example: Learning Path

A new employee starts with an introduction to the company, continues with subject-specific courses, and then completes practical tasks alongside a colleague. The platform displays the next activity and what has been completed. The sequence helps the employee connect background knowledge to the tasks associated with their role.
