What is Documented Training?
- Documented Training
Documented training is training for which the completion has been recorded and can be verified. The documentation specifies who received the training, what it covered, and when it was completed. The specific information and assessments required depend on the job duties, the organization’s procedures, and any applicable regulations.
Implementation and Skills
The documentation can show who participated, what the training covered, and when it took place. A practical assessment can provide further insight into what the individual has mastered. Documented completion and documented competence are therefore not always the same thing. Documented safety training is a more specific term with its own requirements. The information can be collected digitally or in other records.
Example: Documented Training
An employee completes a theory course and then receives practical instruction from an instructor. Both activities are recorded with the date and content. The instructor’s assessment is stored separately. The overview thus shows both what the person has completed and which skills have actually been assessed.
