What is Partner Training?

Partner Training

Partner training is organized training for the company’s external partners. The target audience may include resellers, distributors, or implementation partners. The content should provide the knowledge partners need to sell, deliver, or support products and services, and to follow agreed-upon procedures in the partnership.

The Difference Between Customer and Supplier Training

The partner collaborates to bring the company’s offerings to market. A customer uses the offering, while a supplier delivers to the company. These roles may overlap, but they explain why training needs vary. Reseller training is one type of partner training; it is not a term that covers all types of partnerships.

Example: Partner Training

A manufacturer of building materials offers digital training courses to its dealers and business partners. Dealers receive training on the products’ features, applications, and technical specifications, while partner contractors are introduced to proper installation and use. The training ensures that partners have the necessary knowledge to recommend, deliver, and use the products correctly.
